OUTLINE
The intention of organizers is to present a half-day Workshop in the field of
“Mobile Manipulators”. After a successful experience organizing a
Summer School supported by EURON (i.e. European Robotics Research Network), in Benicassim, Spain
(http://ciclop.act.uji.es/Euron04/)
within the same topics, we think is time to go beyond the European limits and
promote, in an open international scenario, the discussion about this very
active field on robotics. Thus, the aim is to present and discuss some of the
most important disciplines currently related to mobile manipulators concerning
both, universities and industry domains, providing a forum of discussion,
exchange, and co-operation within the scope of the international robotics
community. Among the different topics related to this field, those concerning
with basic techniques, including data fusion, perception-action integration,
kinematic foundations, etc., will be discussed. And finally, real applications
with different kind of service robots will be presented, including human-robot
interaction skills as an emergent issue to be considered.
